Increase resilience and reduce stress

In these chaotic and uncertain times, to reduce stress for finding peace within can seem impossible. Just when you think one crisis is over, there’s something else to worry about. Whether it is up close and personal or on the news, there are often unpleasant events that you have little or no control over. So, it is important that you Increase resilience and reduce stress with The Art Of Stress Management.

If you are also affected personally by sudden adverse vents in your life, it can cause added emotional stress. The question is, are you resilient enough to face any challenges that come your way and reduce stress?

If you are not resilient, you can easily become overwhelmed. Because this is the unconscious mind’s way of dealing with what it feels is too much happening – it stops working logically and replaces active thinking with feelings of numbness.

First, you may dwell on the problem and become depressed, anxious, or worried, which can affect your mental health. Second, you may resort to unhealthy defense mechanisms, which can do more harm to your health, such as using alcohol or drug abuse to further numb the mind.

To make sure this doesn’t happen it’s important to build your resilience and reduce stress so you are more prepared for unwanted experiences, especially sudden and unplanned ones.

  • Develop or Increase Your Resilience and reduce stress

To increase your resilience and to reduce stress by cultivating inner peace and emotional strength is essential for your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. That means it is very possible for you to become more resilient in your life and reduce stress.

Of course, nothing and no one can diminish your inner peace if you are fully prepared. It can only be affected if you allow it to happen. Unfortunately, few of us are taught to properly prepare ourselves and become truly resilient.

Here are the steps you can undertake to increase your resilience and reduce stress.

  • Believe in Yourself and Your Abilities

Be confident in facing present and future challenges by believing in yourself. If others have survived and overcome adversities, so can you.

Be aware and proud of your talents and strengths so that you are more capable and confident. Also, know your weaknesses, so that you can make allowances for them and work around them.

Avoid feelings of helplessness and acknowledge that you are in control of your life. Therefore stay calm and strong and think about your decisions. Making good choices and decisions helps keep external stressors from causing you more anxiety.

Reframe your way of thinking. Stop being cynical or pessimistic and start being optimistic. If you feel trapped in a downward spiral, it can be hard to accept, but you can choose to be happier.

Certainly, you don’t have to bounce around like a character from a Disney cartoon, but you can choose at any given moment, to be a bit happier. Practice it enough and it will become the best habit you will ever create.

Acknowledge that everyone experiences setbacks. No one is immune. If you do have any control over any aspect of a situation, instead of focusing on the problems, concentrate on finding the solution. Even part of the solution. That will help you Increase resilience and reduce stress.

If it is out of your control, recognize that and stop wasting precious emotional energy on it. Remain hopeful for a brighter tomorrow. Optimism will make you feel more in control, even if you are not, and help you to adapt to new challenges with a peaceful mind and less stress response.

There is no point in making yourself sick with stress if you can’t change the world. Focus on the immediate world around you, reduce stress, and be happy and positive.

  • Be Mindful of Your Negative Emotions

Know the signs of when you are stressed so you can immediately counter them and protect your well-being. For example, do you get an upset stomach, suffer from headaches, or lose mental focus? Being mindful of your stress signals can help you be resilient in dealing with unexpected stress more effectively.

Practice coping strategies such as journaling your thoughts, going for a walk, stretching, taking time for self-reflection, and of course, doing some deep breathing. In short, all these things can help you Increase resilience and reduce stress and bring inner peace. They will protect your emotional wellbeing.

  • Strengthen Your Relationships

Maintaining a deep connection with your family, friends, and people in your community can make challenging situations much easier to manage. Consequently, you should rely on your friends and family for emotional support during stressful situations as much as you can.

You won’t know if you have people you can communicate with and count on until you test it, so reach out when you need to.

Sometimes, you may forget to take care of yourself. Self-care may be the last thing on your mind if you are only focused on the immediate crisis. Prioritize some self-care because no one can take better care of you than you! And that will reduce stress.

You cannot be resilient, much less find inner peace, if you have physical, mental, and emotional lack. Therefore, eating a balanced diet, getting plenty of rest and sleep, and exercising daily, is essential.

These things are often the first things we neglect when circumstances turn against us. It is imperative to work past your comfort zone and do what you should do for your health, and not only what little you feel inclined to do.

If you do, you will feel happier and you will automatically start thinking more positively too. So, Increase resilience and reduce stress.
